The V&A is one of the first Museums to embrace the concept of using 12mm thick Corian® for the use of Café tables.

Corian cafe table fixings

Previously to connect a pedestal leg to a Corian® table top required a timber sub-frame and a fabricated Corian® down-stand.  Squirrel® Fixings enable a pedestal leg to be bolted directly to the underside of a sheet of Corian® with no chance of the leg becoming detached when lifted by the top.  By specifying a 12mm thickness the cost of the table top is reduced by approx. 50%.

Subsequently other museums followed, realising the cost and maintenance benefits of using Squirrel® Fixings with Corian® for table tops in high wear areas.
